CLIMATE CONTROL FOR TELECOM STATIONS
To solve the climate control situation inside telecom stations our partner Air-Site has chosen to use products from SIOX Solutions. Their solution uses a fresh air compressor to add clean air without mixing into the building, causing it to stratify which forces the warm air upwards which is then evacuated via a return air grille.
Our control unit has built-in temperature sensor and it will automatically adjust the fan-speed according to the current situation in order to keep the temperature on a steady level. Apart from this feature it also offers damper control, alarm log, starting signal for cooling element and additional connection options via digital and analogue inputs. All these features can be remotely controlled and monitored via Modbus TCP.
Depending on the end users needs we can deliver both smaller control units or more advanced models with network interface and display.
Air-Site also uses our control unit on other solutions, for example in combination with exhaust air heat pumps, air handling units and exhaust fans.
CLIMATE CONTROL FOR COOLER- AND FREEZER ROOMS
Almaco in France is a major supplier of food handling systems for luxury cruise liners. After many years of cooperation we are now producing the third generation of a control- and monitoring system for the cooler- and freezer rooms aboard the ships.
A modern luxury cruise liner can have as many as 100 cooler- and freezer rooms where all are monitored from the main control in the engine room around the clock.
The control- and monitoring units that communicates with each other are all fully customized based on the required needs, offering maximal cost efficiency. These units control the whole compressor system including the sensors which is a very complex process. The solution also takes care of in- and outgoing I/O signals such as local alarms.
The SIOX bus simple cabling and low installation costs makes this distributed system very easy to connect. And this means the solution is not only more cost-effective, it is also safer.
BUILDING AUTOMATION
A standard control system can be used in any application. Over the years we have delivered products to many building automation projects.
The SIOX bus simple choice of cables and easy cabling makes it possible to connect this distributed system at a very low cost. The local PLCs takes care of any local events while the main central can relay changes and collect data after pre-configured priorities.
Our products are easily customized and can quickly be updated with new software versions depending on the changing requirements in a specific project. This is a flexible service rarely offered by our competitors on the market.
At the new swedish national stadium Friends Arena our partners has installed several different SIOX systems for building automation and smoke control.
ONBOARD SYSTEMS FOR MINING TRAINS
Since many years our products are monitoring functions on mining trains, so called on-board-systems. This is a very harsh environment with high demands for long lifespan, durability and safety. The communication between the engine and the wagons takes place in a surrounding with powerful magnetic fields and electric statics from the propulsion systems.
The solution consists of a central unit mounted in the sometimes driverless locomotive that communicates with modules in each wagon. To secure full functionality at all times every individual wagon module has three processors of which two executes the exact same program that also has to be in tune.
All wagon modules has a unique ID which makes it possible to unload the correct wagon despite the order they are placed in, and a full train set can consist of up to 30 wagons.
An important factor in this project was the fact that the original systems lifespan is expected to be 25 years, that any new versions of modules added has 100% backward compatibility, that new functionality can be added and that the product themselves can withstand the corrosive atmosphere and heavy vibrations.
FIRE AND SMOKE CONTROL IN VENTILATION SYSTEM
We are very proud of landing this huge project stretching over several years, where our Smoke Control System control 3200 dampers at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. This is a prestige construction with high demands on all included materials and building partners.
The system is connected to the fire alarm via a huge number of digital inputs. Different combinations of alarms controls matrixes of fire cells that must open or close to evacuate smoke depending on where the actual fire is situated. The configuration for this is created in our tool Smoke Edit and are then stored in the different central units.
Besides the actual damper controller modules and central control units there are some bus amplifiers installed but very few in comparison to the actual size of the project. This is because the relative insensitivity of the SIOX bus regarding the cable lengths and is high tolerance for interferences.
PUMP STATION CONTROL
When dependability, a responsive support organization and product durability in extreme environments are the main issues we were selected as the main supplier of I/O units for water distribution solutions by one of the global operators on the market. This company works all over the world, both with fresh- and waste water distribution systems as well as flooding protection solutions. Their products are used both in temporary and permanent flooding protection installations, for example during and after the hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans region.
Like most of our customers this company has a demand for a long product lifespan. It is vital that both the control equipment works out in the field for many years and that we can ship identical replacement units for a very long time.
Our robust I/0-modules are part of a control and monitoring system that runs mid-size and large pump stations with high demands for flexibility and functionality. The modules has several functions like starting/stopping the pumps, level regulation, and alarm indication.
FLUID DISTRIBUTION IN WORKSHOPS
A long partnership has led to us now delivering the second generation of a control system for fluid distribution to a leading company within the vehicle/mechanical workshop equipment segment.
The system consists of a base platform with terminals, terminals with I/O and stand-alone/O units. These are connected to valves, flow sensors with associated pumps and pressurized tanks. This platform concept offers the most cost effective and flexible solution suitable for both small and large workshops.
Via the SIOX bus the system communicates with a server that in turn invoices the correct vehicle the ordered amount of fluid, like oil and washer fluid. The system also helps the workshops to minimize the waste of expensive oils.
The modules are robust and has high IP-rated chassis. The keyboards has large, visible keys making it possible to operate them even with protective gloves on.
SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM IN VENTILATION SOLUTIONS
Inside the futuristic POSTNORD head office building in Solna our Smoke Control System monitors and controls 200 dampers.
Our system is well established on the market since 15 years and is known for its simplicity, durability and most of all, the low installation costs.
Here is a shortlist of some of our other sucessful reference projects: Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Trelleborg andVadstena, Health Department in Värmland, Mall Of Scandinavia and IKEA.
